Endless Spiral

Endless Spiral

A Poem by Evaaa
"

People move on and you get forgotton. People grow and move and sometimes you're stuck replaying the past caught in an endless spiral.

"
Once my friends and I used to try and outrun the moon, eyes casted to the night sky

We'd set mats on the soft of the grass, and under galaxies and constellations, we'd lie

Stars surrounded us, our earth, we were nothing in the vastness
And we got so lost and blinded by it all

We thought that life was always the easiness between friends and the beauty that wrapped us

But there comes a high wave, a riptide that draws us away
One by one, deathly, a chill creeping up, unknowingly
Until I was left and I wanted to drown

Then it was just me and the stars, imagining you guys somewhere, eyes fixated upwards

The night connected us
I see some of you, I'm in the bus, I pass you, Luce, with a boy

His arms are draped against you and you are wearing a bright red dress, your backpack still on

I see your uniform skirt peeking out your backpack slung over your shoulder

A car picks you guys up
There are more guys in there
Where are you going?
What are you doing?

I saw you too, Sosh
I was walking to the park
It was summer

I see you rushing to where your mom is parked
You brush pass me, you see me

But your eyes are wild,
Drunk with an intensity I've never seen
This place-me, we're beneath you now

I'm so surprised I can't say anything
And then you're gone

Xander, you actually called my mom
And I was talking to you, I asked if you still loved the stars

You said things change, people change and that I should stop living in my mind

You said you didn't care about me or this place anymore
You just want back your stuff that you left in my room

So I'm alone, and the sky stretches on forever
I don't see the luminescence of the stars anymore

All I see is the expansiveness in which they float
All I think is that time slowly eats away at everything

Everything's changed now
And so have I
I miss us,

I miss the quiet
That back then I thought was too much
I'd take over these loud thoughts

An endless spiral, where I'm stuck in the middle
You guys have found something to overshadow the past

All I have are those days
All I want are those days
So I keep spinning, infinitely
