Bag in tow

Bag in tow

A Poem by Evan Kleve
"

No, this isn't real life. This never happened to me. But the idea popped into my head and boom, poem. Enjoy!

"
When the last leaf fell
from the tree
In out front yard.
Why did it have to be?

You walked away
with bag in tow.
Never looking back.
But did you know?

You had my heart,
my heart in tow.
You took it away
with no woe.

But you never looked back
to see my heart.
You were so naïve
When I had thought you so smart.
