Glamour

A Poem by Evelyn

They sit upon the very top of us all

in power, in greed

they abuse and pretend that it was not the fault of their blade

that made you bleed

And I never realized that I could be

closer to a victim of the cardinal need

To seek the truth you continue on

to ask more questions of what you were taught

with excess information you're bound to be left

with answers that leaves you bewildered and distraught

The people go crazy

they cheer, and they cry

obsessed to worship what houses evil

who demands you not question their truth and so

your brainwashed mind is buried in lies

Is it an illusion?

Perhaps it is

and they choose to be kept in illusion

for it is in deception that they find bliss

Can they not see that it's all a facade

that it's all about money and power

that they keep you in fear to keep you obedient

until the final hour

And their rules tend to change

and change to their liking

and they'll appoint someone else

to reel you in with acceptance before striking

And people are distracted with their easing talking

pretending there's no secrets cause they're stalling

the truth behind their whole agenda

by smiling and speaking of inclusion

but don't be fooled people

for it is all an illusion
