Limitations of Skin

Limitations of Skin

A Poem by Evelyn

Two particles flash red

Connected through birth or

A secret knowing

Doppelgängers of each other

Except one hides behind sun and

One dances around just out of my reach

Do I have any of these in me?

If only I had light things like this

So my eyes or lips would emit light

Perhaps my bones would

An anglerfish in a heavy ocean

But for now I lie awake to disappear in darkness

The hopeful and wondrous tone followed by a sobering ending is something to be applauded! Very enjoyable poem! Keep posting your work! :)
