Bitter Remembrances

Bitter Remembrances

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

I felt the bitter remembrances of a past almost forgotten.

"

Those feelings felt

so long ago

laid dormant beneath

the heavy snow of memory.

I lifted them out,

ice dust melting

on my skin,

and shook off the snow.

Once again,

I felt the bitter remembrances

of a past almost forgotten.

Yet, my own will

forgets not the ill harm

done to me by fellows.

Author's Note

E.V. Black
When I was younger, my sister faced me and yelled insults into my face until I cried. I will never forget what she did to me, although I forgive her. This is a reflection of that moment.

Amazing how we can freeze to death, in the warm embrace of love.
So, is it relative, this grip? Poignant. I like.
