park bench musing

park bench musing

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

thoughts for that house that time built
where a life had been lovingly wrapped

in emotion and garlanded with thoughts
share with us like fragmented bits

of tinsel confetti or silvery speckled sand
in the breeze of life catching sunlight

that reflect who you are in flowing words-
that tree-lined avenue of yesterdays

The past often seems better than the present when we look back on it. Maybe we look at these things through rose-tinted spectacles sometimes, but we all have golden memories, and we should keep them held safe. Our past may be gone, but it is still part of who we are. A lovely poem, Frederick!

Oh how I love these words... Perhaps because I am older and have memories galore!
Fabulous last line.."that tree-lined avenue of yesterdays"
And, the image is wonderful..the empty bench.
Lisa, now just finished dinner and reading your words

Fred, your choice of picture is so well tuned to the sense of sensibility this poem can offer. While I was reading my mind was also scanning the bench and the sea, and connecting that image to your crafted words. I could feel my thoughts bending, the fragments catching the sunlight, joining the now to days gone by, but never quite forgotten,
Great poem my friend
