Opa

Yet another poem very dear to me. I wrote this one to comfort my dying Grandfather. I know this poem made him feel a bit better in his final says and that's the best you can expect from a poem.

Opa

 

You are one of God's dearest friends

It pains me to see you so troubled

But I would not know how you felt

If I amplified my pain ten-thousand fold

But now is not the time for sadness

You should look back at what you've done

You've fought all of life's battles

And every single time you won

Please know that you are loved

As deeply as you could be

Please know that soon you will be home with He

God had a great many things in mind when he created you

And sometimes I wonder if you even exceeded his expectations

His blood washes away all stains

Until only good things remain

Please believe me

It's okay to cry

But you'll never die

That's the truth
