my final day

my final day

A Poem by Eyudo

My Final Day

Though I had a lot to say
No one listened anyways
Still for them I do pray
In my final day

I will be leaving pretty soon
All the shadows start to loom
Though the world still spins and blooms
I’m leaving it today

Now I lay here in thought
Wondering what is and what is not
And I’m lying in the dark
Hearing the rain and see the lightning’s spark

I turn my head and look away
The demons say its okay
But when the sun comes back out
They’ll wither away as they shout

No false prophet to follow
Standing tall while feeling small
Just the last moment to swallow
In my final day

Still humans come to me and ask
About my event stained past
I tell them that it is never to last
A concept they smile to as they grasp

They seek wisdom of my mind
Though now they’ve come to find
That history is through
The futures up to you

So many things I had to say
I wish that I could stay
But time says otherwise
It’s uncontrollable and I despise

Something’s going with me today
I feel myself fade away
I’m taking a final thought
Look at the happiness I’ve brought
In my final day

What a sad poem. It shows great depression and deep emotion. I really like this poem. If you wouldn't mind could you enter this poem into my contest? It's called Broken Wings. I'm pretty sure you would win an award with such a beautiful poem.
