just her and I

just her and I

A Poem by Eyudo

Just her and I

Finally alone and where we want to be

No one else, just her and me

The places we go and all we shall see

My hidden place in the valley

Down the trails hand in hand

Into the denser and thicker land

Together we walk and proudly stand

Till we reach the river with the shore of sand

Miles in and days gone

We made it to my spot

No one else will find us there

The last thing in life I’ve got

The water flows shallow

And animals run vast

No noises but us

A place that is my past

A cliff runs next to the river

And a forest the other side

In the cool air together we shiver

Just her and I

Under the falls the waters come

Shining warm on us a morning sun

Deeper into the water hip to hip

Only thought is: “This is it…”
