answer the phone

answer the phone

A Poem by Eyudo

Answer the phone

Now those things are wrong
I need to make them right
I mean, after all
It was my fault for the fight

Things didn't go how I planned
Something's not really meant were said
You understand

So I pick up the phone
And it starts to ring
every time it keeps going
Just once let me hear your voice sing

So I pray to myself as I wait
Is the answering machine going to be my fate
I listen to the ring while I sit alone
And give out a small pathetic moan

I start to be afraid this is the end
So I pray for your ear to me to lend
I'll promise you about anything
And mean it as well

The ringing is almost at its last
And I flash back to our loving past
Cherished one moment to the next
This is really something I majorly regret

So I'm worried that this is a sign
That your telling me to hang up and resign
I'm sorry
I know that you're home
Now please answer the phone
