Beautiful Tragedy

Beautiful Tragedy

A Poem by Jazzlyn B Barden

Is this what you want?

For me to stay unhappy?

But it’s all good, I’m fine.

Yeah right we know that’s just a lie.

But wait.

they don’t, only I do.

I know it’s a lie.

Every smile on my face,

lie.

It can easily just be erased.

Because it’s not even real.

Because I’m not even happy.

Is this what you want?

For me to build up walls,

then watch them crumbling down?

For me to hope I’m good enough,

then find out that I’m still worthless.

That’s what you want,

isn’t it?

If that’s what you wanted,

then I hope your happy.

‘Cause all that’s left of me,

is a beautiful tragedy.

we have all been here at some point...well may be not all but certainly a lot of us. As they say they build you up to knock you down, but rebuilding ourselves can be fun as well and make us way better than ever before so those who had designs on destroying...well sometimes they deserve a thank you...woudntl have been this great without you ;) true words you wrote, liked a lot well done

I prefer the phrase "beautiful disaster"

dis = bad
aster = star

Pretty is still pretty.

It's not super original but I see what you are doing. It's important to remember that we all, more or less, think about the same, in the same way, with extremely similar goals... the key is to describe the same things in new and unheard of ways. Originality I think has more to do with re phrasing the common a new than inventing something new.

Don't smoke cigarettes while you poop... it's a bad habit.

There's always something left until you're a dead animal.

I can really relate to the main character of this piece. You show a lot of depth and insight for a new writer. Keep up the good work! 😊

This feels like rebellion from someone who has given you support to the point it has become debilitating.
