Running

Running

A Poem by sabrina
"

A poem about running away and why it happened.

"

I wipe the tears from my face,

Cooling the mounting anger

With a dampened sleeve.

With an aching soul and foot,

I'm running, running away.

I stop and rest within the brush,

To compose what I'm to do

Now that I've escaped.

Finally, with time to think,

Restless sleep falls upon me.

In my sleep I toss and turn,

As I recall what happened

Just the day before.

It started at 5 o'clock,

6 hours before I left.

There had been a long lecture,

For they were trying to get

Me to understand,

About what I was to do,

And what I shouldn't have done.

But I would hardly listen,

Becaues I already knew that

What I did wasn't right.

If only they understood,

It would lift my burden so.

And even when they try to,

They still don't get it right,

Just shaking their heads.

Continuing to get mad,

They will never understand.

I finally had enough,

I can't stand it anymore

With the confusion.

Leaving all the memories,

I packed my bag and was off.

Wow Sabrina this is great! I loved the little mystery of why the person ran off. I love the description! Especially this:
"I wipe the tears from my face,

Cooling the mounting anger

With a dampened sleeve.

With an aching soul and foot,

I'm running, running away."

Its a greay hooking you onto it line..

Thank you for sharing this, Sabrina. I think most, if not all, of us have wanted to run away at one time or another. I actually did one time! It was a dark moment, and it breaks my heart now to remember why I felt I had to run away.

Sabrina, this is great......i know i have wanted to run away before when my brother fought with my dad...even though it wasn't me, i knew that i hated it from the start. i will always be by your side, me and Serena, and all of your best friends.

I feel the same way whenever my dad and I have fights (pretty much every week). I've never run away, but the feelings of misunderstanding and anger were right there. You did well conveying those feelings in this poem. Although it's sad, great job! ;-)
