Face the Wind

Face the Wind

A Poem by Fargo X. Williams

Gone though not forgotten unlike blown footsteps in the sand,
The yesterdays of yesteryears lie in the Promised Land,
Ride with the Wind, fly with the wind, I'll live them once again,
I'll hold on tight with all my strength until my last amen,

I cast my bread upon the waters, not thinking of returns,
What little there is I have I give for the lessons learned,
Regrets, not few but many, with no way to make amends,
I'd like to think this person's gone to never be again,

Rain washes clean the tarnished earth, the soul, and in between,
Forgiving one's self begins when the will-of-the-wisp is weaned,
The most saintly saints were sinners once upon a time,
Their darkness was absolved, so then there may be hope for mine,

One must cherish every day as life is born anew,
Following your heart is the only way if that heart be true,
What life throws at you tests your faith, count the blessings sprinkled in,
In times to come they will outshine and let you face the wind.
