You Make Me

You Make Me

A Poem by Spencer Valentine

Why am I weak

Where I once was strong?

I thought myself tough

But I was wrong.

My heart was ice,

But it was warmed,

And where it once was

There now has formed

Darkness abundant

And a fire to burn

In the dark alone

But I hope to turn

Back to the light

Without a false flame.

I'm really tired

Of this sick little game.

You make me jealous,

You make me mad,

You make me depressed,

You make me sad,

You bring to light

For all to see

Everything there is

That is weak within me.

Ever dark,

But ever burning,

I must get over

My weak heart's yearning.
