Trees Bend.

Trees Bend.

A Poem by Fay Slimm

Bent trees are sure proof of persistent storms
which batter against their best defences,
incessant blowing off-course, no warning
ahead from gales, yet determined to drench
with prolonged strength any opposing force
cannot endanger great hearts for within
trees sits calm. Feared are storms remorselessly
battling the mind, they resist strongest will
to it's ultimate break but as trees bend
to recover they survive, outer attack
needs inside resources therefore we send
out signals and yield like trees to fight back.
Without bolts heart-doors close and are not made
to open for ought save to Love's fearless face.

In the storms of life we can wonder if the bent tree is as persistent as the storm, one touching the other and changing them in ways unseen to the eye. Such a moving bevy of verse and thought and sentiment! It is good to be reading again after many a year and the changes that have occured in the interim. Thanks for sharing.

Ahhh, Fay 🍂

There's nothing like the feminine strength, determination, and sensually embracing appeal of a beautiful Cornish Lass, and what a perfect depiction of her to the strength, flexibility, and resilience of one of Nature's most endearingly emblematic givers of life ⁓ the wondrous Tree.
Who's pen, but yours, Dear Fay, could compose such an enthrallingly impacting, deeply meaningful love poem, to rousingly touch and unbolt our hearts.

As you well know, I've always loved and enjoyed your poetry, M'Lady … it's been long enough I've missed your charming poetess's touch,
I'm so glad I found this virtual masterpiece … warmest hug of grateful thanks to You! ⁓ Richard 🍃
