Devil in the church

I'm singing with the choir,
Im sitting in the pews,
You see me and you smile,
But I'm not one of you,

There's discord in the house of god,
There's chaos in the chapel,
For those who truely worshiped him,
Would never have eaten my apple,

You say you keep the word of god,
You say that you are true,
But when I take a look inside,
Even I'm desgusted by you.

I liked your poem it is very well written and flows well - it is also very thought provoking are you talking about someone in the church who comes across as being very Christian like but really is not or would you be talking about yourself and your own demons maybe? whatever I liked it very much. best wishes

I wrote it from the perspective of the devil, saying that he is in the church, as my pastor says you may talk the talk, but its meaningless if you don't walk the walk as well, but like all my poems, its open to your own interpretation.

Sadly there is much discord in the house of God - this is true. You did a good job writing this as the devil being in the church - a good eye opener hopefully :)
