Absence of Presence

Absence of Presence

A Poem by Adam Stier
"

Free verse, fragmented poem about shy love and longing.

"
Feel free to call
Feel free to fall
Feel free to stand on
My porch and bawl.

If you try forgetting me
I will cast my shadow
Take all that you might believe
Saturn’s ring is a reliable key

See me!
See me!
See me well!
I was but a secret
Your heart could never tell.

If by chance we meet
Out on the crooked street
I will set a cap for feather
And you will sign my letter

I know you!
I know you!
I know you well!
In the boroughs of my heart
Is where you dwell.

Darkness comes,
Darkness goes,
Tomorrow holds
What the Shadow knows

Your face is reflected
On my frontal lobe
Moonshine, Stargaze
Warm, soft glow.

Love me!
Love me!
Love me please?
Say, say you won't leave me.

Today is tomorrow
The Sun is scheduled to depart
Sailing on a dry lake bed
To the castle of Life's Bitter Heart

Riga-mortified, Riga-terrified
Petrify the world with
soft Little lies.
Told under the setting deep

I was meek lacking style
You were in a domicile
Called from a paper cup
Somehow talking the string got cut.

Notice me!
Notice me!
Notice me please?
Why, why do you not see me?

You take the midnight bus
I take the morning train
I know you and I know Time
My friend, enemy, my ally!

Hear me!
Hear me!
Hear me well!
In the basement of memory
Is where I see hell

You are walking upside-down
I am flying above the clouds
I know we'll meet again
Isn't that according to Vera Lynn?

My growing up is rough
Vertical hopes, shattered past
Going around the burning bush
Frosty chills in the realm of death

Love of the Broken Arrow
Feel what I feel
Dispersed the same
The broken deal

Goodbye!
Goodbye!
Time will always tell
If my wish comes true
And I
See Him in hell

Love me!
See me!
Hear me!
Notice me!

I've always been here.

About
Nor much, really. I live in Portland Oregon, I work a dull job. However, I love to write! Well, everything except bio pages. I find it rather off-putting to write about myself. I so seldom pay attenti.. more..
