The loss of hope

The loss of hope

A Poem by FeatherArrow

Flickering

perched on the edge of

 a sinking ship

about to lose the struggle

to the huge crackling waves

that are screaming into the ears

of the sole occupant : hope

“let go”

“let go !”

Hope had never known

how to let go

so hope stood

confused, dazed and fearful

but looking below

wanting to save the darkness

from itself

surely, it does not know

its end is near

I turn away,

I cant bear to look

at hope die.
