Utter darkness

I look around but
There is nothing to see
In this utter darkness
That is surrounding me

While being here
Trembling of fright
I realize there's always something
Hiding in the night

I've never lost that scaredness
I had as a child
Of monsters and nightmares
And life being defiled

And now that I stand here
While I can't see a thing
There's this horrible feeling
Only darkness can bring
