A Brief Insight

A Brief Insight

A Poem by ForeverNever
"

I don't know. I'm not an open book. So here's a brief insight.

"

How can I explain to you?

That it’s these insecurities that make me do the things I do.

The scars…oh the reasons go on

The will to stop is so far gone.

I cut each day to remind myself

That I need to remain perfect upon my shelf

The standards that everyone has for me

I wish everyone would let me be.

I hate your friends and the way they stare

At me like our relationship is unfair.

I didn't force you to be here

The freedom in this, we both share.

I didn't say you couldn't hang with her

I just let you know what I prefer.

You are you and I am me

Both of us are completely free.

One day everyone will back away

And we can live together our own way.
