The Darkside of Love

The Darkside of Love

A Poem by Fran Marie

The beat of a broken heart
is stopped, with no blood left to flow
Tears no longer slide from eyes that cried,
with no hurt left to show

It's a slippery slide into
The Darkside.
A termination of love inside

An ending to all my emotions
'Tis no valid value of love, for me to feel,
Erased, is my ability to love
Cupid's poison-dipped arrow,slid in to kill.

Causing a slippery slide into
The Darkside.
A discrimination of love's pride.

Shielded is my useless heart
Blockaded is my empty mind
Both of which have slipped apart
within a matter of fleeting time.

Making a slippery slide into
The Darkside.
A reservation for love to hide.

Due to empty promises and words
A heartache will be no more
An end to problems, that made love absurd
My heart deleted all aspects which made it sore.

Just a slippery slide into
The Darkside
A destination where only a broken love can abide.

This was amazingly well-written, and I could relate to it so well, it took my breath away. Thank you for entering this into The Heart's Demise... and congratulations on a winning poem. Hehe.

"Just a slippery slide into
The Darkside
A destination where only a broken love can abide."

The ending was fantastic, and my favorite verse... most beautiful, heart-felt, etcetra.

Chloe.

Hmmm...I think that you should have described the emptiness caused by a sea of torment, in a less ''direct'' manor, but the flow is good and the poem is beautiful.

if only the heart would cease to care for those we once did all things with in love!! If only; but, the dark side I prefer not to dwell within since the day to day can be dark enough at times.

Wow!! This is a fine and expressive write!! ;~)
Thanks for sharing your inner self!

how i truly love the way you have written this piece; my
heart aches in pain because i feel some what the same as the words on that white
space. The first stanza made me want to carry on reading, because i thought it sounded so
beautiful yet so sad at the same time; it was my heart that felt the sadness, my eyes saw the beauty

A breathtaking and stunning piece. So many I think can relate to those hurtful and bad feelings, when one's world stops turning and crumbles into pieces...

Excellent write. Everything in it is just perfectly done! I love it! Kudos!

Truly incredible writing... wow!!!
Again.... Wow!

I have so many things I want to say to this, but instead... I think I'll ponder it for a few.
You certainly have a gift Fran, for capturing raw emotion and gently laying it out for your reader to explore.

Brilliant.
