The Witch Spell

The Witch Spell

A Poem by Fran Marie

The Witch's Spell

A Wicked Witch did cast a spell.
Of Woe and Grief, to all befell
And from tales of folklore that tell
She did it well~She did it well.

She place the hex yon far and wide
Thru~each small town,and countryside
Folks sought shelter, but only cried
No Place To Hide! No Place To Hide!

Too much power this Witch possessed
The Grief-stricken folks were not blessed
Seeking Solace, they tried their best.
But could not rest~They could not rest.

Mad and Angry they now fought back
To retrieve the peace, they now lacked
They hung her to dry,on a rack
That Witch in black~That Witch in Black

Now the Dead-Witch can do no Spell
and of course their fate turned out swell
And that is that, No more to tell
They did it well~They did it well.

Bravo! This was very well done, the idea behind it was unique and the way you wrote it was definitly perfect for the idea. The only thing I'd watch out for is your rhyming. A few of those rhymes are quite simple and throw the rhytme off a bit. Other than that good job and keep at it!

A haunting rhyming poem for my contest. I always say if you are going to do something, do it well. I love it when someone does it well.

very fun to read and i imagine it set to music in the fashion of medieval bards. i kinda felt a bit sorry for the witch as she and i are kindred spirits. no matter. the rhythm and storyline are well woven.

This almost sings... the rhythm is so strong. It is a fine piece. Harsh on the witch, but they lived happily ever after. LOL Well done.
