Flowers

Flowers

A Poem by Fran Marie

When faces called flowers
float out of the ground
of various shades
Beneath a blue sky
their beauty abounds
and morning dew kisses
the sweetest red rose
while a golden sun shines
upon each flower's face
in grace it soon grows
Afternoon raindrops
bestows~nature her
drink~ refreshes anew
The sweet flowers stand
forming a rainbow with
each other's hues
A glowing mystery surrounds
this astounding view
Now in full force on their
deep emerald stems they sway
as whispering winds blow
gently into play
And a silent dark night befalls
on their foliage deep
as moonlight thru~ lofty trees
takes a peek
on sleepy- face flowers
as if asleep
A new dawn arises then
and faces called flowers
float out of the ground again

Ohhhhh this is lovely, truly lovely. I'd love it even if I wasn't a landscape designer!

Your lines flow one to another like a wonderful sweep of flower filled land..

' Now in full force on their / deep emerald stems they sway / as whispering winds blow / gently into play
And a silent dark night befalls / on their foliage deep / as moonlight thru~ lofty trees / takes a peek
on sleepy- face flowers / as if asleep '.... that is PERFECT - peaceful, just as a garden should be

Thank you so much for sharing such a fine piece of writing and all its wonderful meaning.

"When faces called flowers

Amazing beginning, I love the way you have given faces to the flowers, this gives the reader a chance to imagine a flower as a person, or even to imagine being a flower standing in the sun and the rain. Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing.

I really like the idea of flower faces, I am thinking what kind of flower would I like to be and why..not an orchid, too showy and feminine, not a rose, too bloody bright and complex...not a tiger lily, too oriental and exotic...I think I'd be a violet, simple and small, innocent and bold with all the common bravery to sprout up wild in most any yard, invited or not and dressed for all the world like visiting royalty. Yep, I'd be a violet. lol

This poem is beautiful. It has a sort of half-rhyme scheme that I thought was really interesting. You picked a wonderful subject to write about. Good job!
