A Paper Heart

A Paper Heart

A Poem by Fran Marie

I write my heart on paper
'tis thinner than autumn leaves
and these tears I cannot taper
to put my mind at ease

my delicate heart surrendered
for a true love I wanted to share
showing emotions tendered
proving how much I cared

I write my spirit to the winds
and tho~the ink has dried
my soul sealed in sadness descends
for this paper heart has died

Beautiful.

Yep, that's about it. Your words are fragile yet hide a hidden strength. Great imagery. Well done.

Beautifully crafted words and meter.

The rhyming here feels really natural, unlike a lot of other poems I've read, so kudos on that. One thing: why did you write "and tho~ the ink"?

But other than that, I love it.
