Where is Love?

 

Love is an empty word

  when one speaks but does not feel

 uttered  softly love is heard

   yet love's vessel lays unfilled

 

Why say I love you sweet

  'tis but bitter words upon thy lips

an untrue soul spawns a sad deceit

  and death's poison from your heart drips

 

O' where is love to believe and lies stripped bare

   to trust in promises of love so stated

for I cannot mend love's brutal tare

  when it has no substance mandated

 

Why does love speak,yet does not feel?

    and leave this empty heart's vessel unfulfilled.

sometimes the word doesn't need to be said, it's there, unspoken, shown in a million ways .. a word is a word is a word.. so to speak.

Indeed love is a four letter word, it is easily said and nice to hear but it is what you do that counts... it's those little thing you do to show how someone means to you and if you can't do that then it ain't love... wonderfully done.

this is so true...why speak of love when the word is a hollow promise? it must be felt, in the heart, in the soul for it to have any credence. i myself, would rather go without that word if it is not felt....
