White Magic

White Magic

A Poem by Fran Marie

Sleeping,dreaming
    Oh,the night is long
               as I slumber~
my visions of a silent white night

 Crystal white snowflakes
     wet my senses,holding
             the moment~ feeling divine
                              Sleeping,dreaming

 Falling,drifting
       in silence flying
             with winter's calling
                      Oh, the night is long

 Chilled -winds blowing
      white magic, blankets barren ground
             glowing with sparkling light
                                       as I slumber

 Then, a waking world calls
       and reality, claims me
                making me, forsake
my visions of a silent white night

I, too, think that snow is magic, or at least one of nature's many wonders, and one of the most wonderful at that.
I like the drifting formating, it fits the theme perfectly.
The repetition of the single lines of the first stanza each as the last of one following is brilliant.
Then the theme itself is amazing, dreaming of snow falling at night makes me wish for actual snowfall during the time of the slumber... and who knows? Maybe that is exactly what's going on outside. There is nothing like waking up to a snowy scenery on a winter morning.
I really enjoyed this poem.

I live in the valley of Phoenix...around autumn and in the winter time, I dream of snow and am woken up to the same realization which you have wonderfully described here! Wonderful write as always :)

Ahh, this poem makes me miss home...Not as much snow here as I'm used to. So, I'm left with my dreams of the past and hopes for the future. I love it. Great write, Fran.
