Love To Death And Death Will End It

Love To Death And Death Will End It

A Poem by Frances Clark

Kisses to show it, and they plant themselves

Into the smaller spaces of feeling and their play areas.

It communicates they are companions.

Materialism is slightly apart of it.

Neither are materialist human types,

But they give one another modest belongings,

He gives her, her own sign,

A Sagittarius turquoise stone heart shaped charm,

And an owl they named Oliver who is carved from rock.

She gives a Sagittarius turquoise stone shark tooth charm

And several of her own drawings and letters, purposely for him,

And doses of vanilla lip balm every so often.

Habits were of course to develop,

The kind of routine that satisfy their affections.

These are good, budding from parallel interests.

But some things do conflict,

They learn and take curiosity in each others matters

And together have become more educated.

It’s impractical to think of any other,

They sketch in their brains what they believe can happen

Or what they want to happen. There is no difference.

They find nothing more to be with each other,

To kiss and care each other,

To love to death and death will end it.

This is the budding...I like how you incorporated the idea of materialism into it, I haven't seen that in a love poem...but it is very much a part of it....and I love that second to last stanza!
