役に立たないわめき散らすこと

役に立たないわめき散らすこと

A Poem by Freder Fredersen (aka Grady)
"

rant.

"

Draining turpentine moments in fiery hours

Sours the childlike butterflies of nervous highs

That trickle through jagged labyrinths of

Cynical laughter and waterlogged tears.

A chorus of fears thundering tomorrow’s curses

Until blessings are absorbed into menacing grey

Scowls in the melancholic skies praying cold rain.

Yesterdays dressed in negligees drill bored minds deep.

And we all eat grade D meat from cardboard cartons,

Driving used Ford dreams through hollowed out mysteries,

Wearing culture spun in sweatshops from blood drops

Of children who will die for our extravagance.

Masturbating and debating for pleasure,

Never appreciating the treasures we ingest,

With more sins left unconfessed than mouthless w****s.

We could fix it, but what for? It’s a flawed world.

We are flawed creatures. It fit’s like a worn in shoe.

Think it through. Then drink a beer, and eat a burger.

Watch the life-numbing news until you find slumber.

Nightmares are the sexy twin sisters of actual life.

Ha! Four lines in, the poet turns into Henry Rollins!

I like the rant. I like the bitter outrage. And -- finally! -- I have some constructive criticism for you. Take it or leave it, of course. It's given in cheerful spirits.

So . . . you don't need to say "life-numbing news" because the context already implies that it's life-numbing.

Okay, so that wasn't much criticism for you. But it's a start, right?
