For Ona (90)

A Poem by Freder Fredersen (aka Grady)

The hell-beasts scratch at the floorboards nightly,
Above my home, dark banshee's swoop and scream,
Beneath my bed, Death's sharp teeth shining brightly,
But I sleep soundly, for you haunt my dreams.
Your love corrodes my deep pain so sweetly;
Exorcising demons and slaying wraiths.
Corpses wrapped up and disposed of neatly,
In your soft pale arms, rests all my faith.
Around this empty and desolate room,
Your memory shines and vampires desist.
I dance like a child amidst the cold gloom,
With your love, evil can scarcely exist.
You are bright beauty that constantly blooms,
Even in a graveyard's thick looming mist.

Aw, how sweet. You've got me looking for hidden messages in everything, you know. Coming up short here . . .

Death and love well-blended here.
