Gutterballs and Chruch Pews

Gutterballs and Chruch Pews

A Poem by Freder Fredersen (aka Grady)
"

I have a tiny monster under this hat.

"

Lying preacher with a tiled in smile

is telling me my problems.

And my problems laugh

in shadows

of

whatever

and fat sweaty questions.

he's choking on logic and common

sense. God should have fired this guyy

months ago. he's not worth all the oxygen he

converts. he's all carbon dioxide and billshit and cheap

cologne and expensive suits and all that sort of clapping crap

maybe I need a shrink

or

maybe a hobby

or

maybe a beer, a cigarette and a w***e

I have seen more of god in a bowling alley

than here.

quiet down there brother whoever he was!

I am going bowling.

See if I can find Jesus.

Look for the magic in the mud. Instead of the mud in the magic. . .
Or some such horse flop.

Nothing was ever written that said preachers were any better acting than any body else. Well, maybe it was written and I just never read it. . . but I've known my share of preachers, all denominations who reminded me too much of used-car salesmen or shifty lawyers. It takes a special man to walk that walk and talk that talk. And it may be that I've seen more of God in a bowling alley than several churches I've visited. Let's go bowling!
