Hey buddy! Remember me!

Im that place where

You got your first mudprints

You moved on I still stand here.

 

Our first meeting was splendid

Your dad introduced us

And we became best of buddies

That friendship lasted for years.

 

First it was your dad,you and me

Soon you brought your friends

Rolling n stamping all around

I watched you making amends.

 

That beautiful girl you brought along

Your stories I heard n joined in the fun

Her pretty smile, your shy gestures

That first kiss under the setting sun.

 

I remember it all but you lost it

Your footprints faded with time

One day you stopped visiting

Your memories unlike mine sublime.

 

I heard somewhere You replaced me

With some box in your living room

My greens no more appealed to you

With passing years came my doom!

 

You got addicted to staying indoors

Your kids followed your fancy ways

The virtual thing took my place

Heartbroken our memories I chase...

 

Times changed so did You

My reminiscence remains profound

Just to remind You buddy...

I'm your old buddy, now barren playground !

This poem really aches of change and nostalgia. Many times people change so much that they lose and forget pieces of their pasts. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what we used to be and what we used to know to bring us back to ourselves. I'm learning that as we speak.
