Writers

Writers are very special people,
they come in each color and gender.
They are able to conjure up situations
that range from brutal to tender.

Writers can carry us all away
to places of peace or adventure.
They are able to evoke, with simple words,
feelings of rage or pleasure.

Writers can make the world go away,
they can take us to lands near or far.
They can show us worlds of beauty and charm
or set us down in the midst of a war.

Writers can show us the thrill of great passion
or the darkest depths of despair.
They can carry us off to the wonders of heaven
or the terror of a vampire's lair.

Let's hear it for writers who bring us the truth
and the ones who help us escape,
let's hear it for writers of every genre
and the beautiful worlds that they shape.

Ok, This has to be my favourite poem ever. It's so true. I'm speechless (can you image me, speeachless? :P ) You have such a way with words. I love your abilty to rhyme so well. My rhymes always end up flat. Yet again, another great write!!!!
