WORDS

A Poem by Gurdeep...The Lost
"

This poem brings home the importance of sweet and polite speech. It also emphasizes that how conducive can a humble nature be towards achieving success.

"
What does the cuckoo give one?
What does the crow take?
With their words of different kind and types,
They win one's affection sake.

One may be like the cuckoo,
Or may have his speech as of a crow.
Possessing the quality of the former,
He deserves utmost respect as did Homer.
Goes here and there ,goes where he likes,
Peoples' love for him always hikes.

Latter's quality of one does posses,
Peoples' respect for him will be less.
He'll go here and there-wherever he may like,
People everywhere will disgrace and dislike.

Speak words melodious which people like.
Be humble and always polite.
Following this meticulously each day,
Shall bring  great honor to your way.

Wow!
Beautiful poetry.
The rhyme..the content..and most importantly, the thought.
I agree with you there..being polite does win you respect..even if you disagree with somebody, if you put your point forward in a decent manner, it makes you stand out.
Amazing write. :)

You've drawn a very nice parallel here...you could try and leave out some of the superfluous words...would give a better effect...over all its a nice piece....

I like the use of the cuckoo to make your point. Using nature allow the reader to understand and keep their interest.
"Goes here and there ,goes where he likes,
Peoples' love for him always hikes. "

Learning to be both humble and polite is important, learning to accept life's tempers is even more important. We are who we are, we clip our own wings or - we fly.

Thanks for sharing.
