Blind

Blind

A Poem by GZ

To a deaf a mute sound speaks,
it tells the truth to him as it'll fly with the winds,
spread like pollen carried by the bees,
but the deaf stands still - as this deaf the mute's lips can't read.
The mute sound now dies carrying his secret with him,
as the deaf makes one first and one last wish:
"If only I could hear the world speaking to me,
if only past could repeat and make me this secret keep".
Something happened as the first tears dripped,
the wish came true and deaf could hear the birds sing.
Now the scene repeats,
the deaf could hear but the mute can't speak,
and the once deaf can't read...
the sound dies again as the secret keeps.
One more wish, one more wish,
as the ears bleed and the once deaf screams...
Tears drop, blood dripped,
and again the wish was made but this time all he wanted was to being able to read.
So the past came present and the scene repeats...
"I love you" - that was it,
and he realized his eyes always worked but he was too blind to see.
All the love they always shared in a life of risks,
but now it was too late and the emotions began to sink.
As a weak hand tried to grasp on a tiny string,
life slipped away and the once deaf saw its love leave.
