A Fool's Paradise

A Fool's Paradise

A Chapter by Gargi

They were there - in the fool’s paradise. J appreciates what S does and S does the same. And it’s not hard to say it out loud. You can accept it in front of a friend. Well, one friend. And a pizza deliver guy. But it’s not for the others, it’s for them. And that is what matters.

The first sip and the first inhale of a forbidden air

All came from him, even when he wasn’t near

But nearness is relative and so is affection

They managed it well and without any tension

The climb was steep to the top of the hill

They’re on the way, paving their roads and making their kill

He calls it a fool’s paradise, she’d rather not name it

For whatever reason, won’t be fair to it

Maybe she’s scared, maybe he’s right

For all we know, it’s not in black and white

Last kiss and the last sweet word

Will repeat itself for whatever it’s worth

It’s good and that’s what’s needed

No matter what anyone says, it’s definitely seeded

Let the dead sun rise

and the moon not exist

the fool’s paradise

is what they live

The dark days

and the bright nights

and all the haze

fills all the void

The yellow curtain

the newspaper wall

what’s needed

is there in all
