I hate christmas

This is a piece I wrote for Honors English. We had to write a piece from the perspective of a holiday object. But tt had to be with a personality that no one would normal think of. I hope you enjoy.

Oh My Gosh… Seriously guys? Why does it have to be Christmas again? I HATE this time of year. I hate having to make toys for annoying little kids. Seriously, go buy them. I don’t want to spend all my time rushing around making toys and delivering them for nothing. It’s not like it makes me happy, entertained. I don’t like toys, children, or Christmas. It’s all a waste of time.

                Every year I spend months and months making toys. Making sure kids on are on the right list. If it was up to me they would all be on the naughty list. I would much rather give them all coal. It would make me happy seeing them cry. Blah, children are gross.

                And the chimneys. That’s the worst. You guys always talk about how I’m big and jolly. If you think I am so big maybe you could be as considerate as to make your stinking chimney bigger. Gosh. I’m not a magician I can’t just zap myself down it.

                Also, don’t even get me started on the cookies. You think a man like me wants to get down and drink eggnog and eat cookies. I’ve been working my butt off. The least you could do is leave me a cold beer and some French fries. Or even some chips would be nice.

                I can’t wait till Christmas is over. Or heck even better, when children stop believing in me. Finally, I’ll be able to relax. Not have to do anything. Be happy for once. I HATE CHRISTMAS!
