A Poem by Geodan
"

Winter

"
When the grass withers
And the world turns cold
The birds are gone
And there's no more gold
The clouds loom over
The leafless trees
The flowers die
Petals blow away in the breeze
There's a gray light
The sun is dark
It's winter time
We've hit that mark
A dark cold season
The world's at rest
We're in our homes
The birds leave their nest
But in winter
It's an uphill slope
And at the top
There's a sort of hope
Snow flutters down
It covers the trees
And fills the place
Of the birds when they leave
We still smile
We still sing
Of the wonders that come
With the upcoming spring
