Ultimate Betrayal

Ultimate Betrayal

A Poem by Geralyn Miller
"

for Sandi, may she forgive herself one day

"

dear god

I loved him (hate him)

I miss him (despise him)

I trusted him

with a treasure

more valuable than life.

I trusted him

with my children.

I trusted him!

He violated my trust

---in ways so hurtful,

so hard . . .

dear god,

I loved him.

I can never forgive him,

never trust him, again.

Right now,

I can't trust anyone;

----not anyone----

with my children.

oh, god,

why my children?

I could forgive another woman;

I'd be hurt,

but I could forgive.

He took away my security

when he stole

my children's innocence.

I agree..........and all other forms of abuse, I have a friend who went through this situation with a baby sitter, it took years for her to come to terms with it........you have written such an emotional sad piece, and of course, for this mother it is too late to protect her children from the damage.
