Sky Tears

Sky Tears

A Poem by Geralyn Miller

It was fitting that rain fell

as we said our last good byes.

She always loved the rain.

The rain must have loved her.

The sky began to weep

the moment we reached her open grave.

The rain continued

for the rest of the day,

all through the night;

until the sky

finally cried itself to sleep

just as dawn broke.

Incredible poem---my guided imagination was that of a minor break-up, but it took a major turn after the line,
"the moment we reached her open grave."
Furthermore, the remaining lines after this are very well-written, and I really like the lines,
"until the sky finally cried itself to sleep just as dawn broke."---Outstanding choice of wording---very original and the most affective---great write!

Beautifully bittersweet... You've given a poem filled with the emotion of letting go.. of the world itself in tears for the loss of one so precious..
