Mermaid Baby

Mermaid Baby

A Poem by Geralyn Miller
"

For Linette

"

Baby mermaid,

ocean child;

born of water and pure love.

Golden curls cluster

'round angel sweet face.

Eyes that change

with ocean's whim;

green to blue to storm dark grey.

Impish smile on rosebud lips,

searose cheeks

just lit with joy.

The sea is your freedom,

mermaid child,

a place without the limitations

that bind you on the land.

Now you dwell

in the Forever Sea

in the world beyond

the end of time.

Evermore

you are free

of the constraints of land,

sweet, smilimg mermaid girl.
