Another Joint on the Road

Another Joint on the Road

A Poem by Jim Given
"

a lonely and weary traveler's thoughts

"

Red Mountain or

Tap water and beer

Separately or

Together and as one,

Another Joint on the Road,

Girl’s on poles

Dance floors and laps,

Missing teeth save

Pierced tongues

Unnecessary,

Another Joint on the Road,

Zig zags and the

Dime bag on the

Passenger side floor,

Of the Studebaker

Lark Cruiser,

With bitter seeds and stems,

Leave no reason,

To pull over,

Another Joint on the Road.
