My Take on Greek Mythology

My Take on Greek Mythology

A Poem by Jim Given

Smoke ring virtues,

Dissipate into the

Morning skies.

Leaving only

Memories

Of righteous

Integrities,

And urbane

 Moralities.

I find myself

Lost in the

Recesses

Of my brain,

Like my child’s name.

Myths with dubious

Characters,

Carpetbaggers

Of the heart.

Compromising

Their days

And respective

Nights with

Overtures

Resplendent

With their

Decorative

Anonymity,

Colorful

Grays, blacks and whites

Factor less,

Until the new day.
