Memories of Old

Memories of Old

A Poem by Elizabeth

Years may go by as you watch me grow,
but how I'll turn out, you'll never know.
You left us so long ago, yet still I will cry,
you fell into the sky as years may go by.
He holds you now and for you I'll pray,
in eternal sleep, in silence you stay.
No sounds escape but muffled cries
from those who still cry for a soul passed by.
Your candle burned out long ago,
but mem'ries remain with those who would know
a grand mother so sweet, I shed many a tear;
in silence I think, "I miss you mom-mom, why aren't you here?
