Marquis Phenix (Pheynix, Phoenix, Phoeniex, Phenex). The Thirty-Seventh Demon from the 'Ars Goetia'.
"Phenix" (Demon #37)
Sacred to the Sun, from the ashes of the Funeral Pyre/ Which I make for myself, after each lifespan of 500 years is over At the utmost very top of a palm tree, a birds nest catches fire/ Ignited by a spark from hooves, as Celestial Steeds draw the Chariot of Ra Amid the flames a beautiful Arabian bird, extends it's purple wings and neck/ And instead of flying, I'm consumed by fire, reduced to ashes but not the end A Great Marquis of Hell, I have twenty legions of demons under my command/ An excellent poet, obedient to the conjuror, to any censor I will bring harm.

Great depiction of a favourite spirit of mine :) as I read each poem I wonder how each one will top the last, so to speak, this is the answer, great poem :)
An artist that was unknown to American society, but lived within it had painted a masterpiece of this one. He named it "Satans Canary". The magnificent bird was engulfed in flames, he had told me. Eventually he destroyed the painting claiming that it had an evil to it in which he could not describe. He said that its eyes simply made him uneasy. Years after this cancer began to plague his family. Taking his mother first, then claiming his body. He is still alive but slowly fading. On thanksgiving he had watched his father fall dead in the living room. I don't know if there was a connection, but usually evil spirits cause terrible things to happen.
