Is all no good for you

In this material world

Why is that?

 

How so long we muddle about this world

Looking for things

To makes us feel good

A momentary pleasure

An inkling of solace

In this dark cold herding

Across our traversings of this life

On this world called Earth (we call Earth)

With such unending appetites

Looking for something…good

Not always knowing

What we are doing

What we are looking for

We just know that it is...good (or so we tell ourselves)

~ I like these lines and I love the poem.

You're right that people nowadays are pretty materialistic and haven't cared about what really matters in reality. It would be great if people would mind that though (i'm not an exception to what you're pointing out)

i agree. we're all searching for something good. even something better. our appetites will never be satisfied. the 7 deadly sins are supposedly bad for us, but they're things that make us human. great poem. sounds like it comes from a cynic.

Well that one made me think. I mean your point is fantastic "The good we seek, are not always as good as they seem." Very well said I may be a textbook case of that "searching" feeling. Either way a very well written piece!

Thought provoking write, it's like filling a hole in the heart it can't be closed by things and taste only what's deep within. When we get what we want we either search for more or still remain unsatisfied

Nobody is ever wholly satisfied...we always long for what we don't have, then lament its loss when we have it and let it go...an excellent assessment of human nature.
