The Rainbow has a Beard

The Rainbow has a Beard

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

tribute to an old warrior

"

The Rainbow has a beard

(where's Eric)

So many magnificant colors

so many sounds of the artist reaching

the tones so inventive and creative

it was new then, different, not like another

the melody carried away in timeless echoes

sending us off drifting into the unknown

the burning hot strings overcharged

while Mr. Bruce treated our ears lyrically

the Ginger was sprinkled everywhere

exciting the air molecules with explosions

off timed, eccentric patterns of rhythm

but Eric was the warrior of epic proportions

the white room with black curtains

just beyond the crossroads of that time

and the sunsine of their love blossomed

and indeed the rainbow did have a beard

to this day the performances continue

greying temples now appear in the shadows

still very special to the old warriors that remain

but not like the Jedi from whence he came

Who does not love Eric?
Gray beard or brown.
love this part

the Ginger was sprinkled everywhere

exciting the air molecules with explosions

off timed, eccentric patterns of rhythm

but Eric was the warrior of epic proportions

Very good and yes, he was , is epic to me.

I really enjoyed this one, Monsieur. A quality poem and a sincere tribute to one of the greats. Music like that will indeed live forever, even though the artist will not. I only wish I could have listened to the song too (one of my favourites) but alas there are the usual licensing restrictions!
Great piece of work - fitting and almost equal to the music itself. A skilful balance of appreciation and devotion.

A very interesting story. I never met a rainbow with a beard. I did like the flow and the story in your words. Some people leave their mark on the world. A excellent poem.
