Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Gracie

I slowly undress and step in.

The warm water cresting my skin.

As i sit down, the water flows over me.

Swallows me whole.

I sink down deeper.

It lays over my face.

The water takes me to a place i rather be.

Where i don't have to worry.

I don't have those thoughts anymore.

Because now I'm dead.

I believe drowning is more desperate and emotional. Is a very bad way to go. A interesting poem. Death by water and want. A sad ending. The poem was direct and the tone accepting death with welcome arms. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Submergence under thoughts can kill you in different ways than water. But everyone looks the same after. Great poem, dark ideas flow on lucid words.
