Little Sliver

Little Sliver

A Poem by Glorious Gregorius

Eyes of onyx on me they blame
Oh so very much are they pained
Accusing, every ounce I've earned
Deep into the soul do they burn
Try to push a strand from your face
"No" you say and draw back, almost a cringe
So sad, that I no longer know my place
So damned, I fear I'm coming unhinged
All I have is this tiny little sliver
Simply holding it, my blood runs like a river
I try to let go, but wake gripping it tighter
Little sliver gives me hope for days brighter
