Falling

Falling

A Poem by Russell Drake
"

A current life situation

"

All his life he’d never seen her before
Lost in his own mind and blind to the world
But then one day she appeared at his door
Soon to change everything unknown to both

It started with nothing more than a hug
And soon he began to pour his heart out
Talking to her was addicting like drugs
Then he fell for her and he broke his oath

So much in common each with the other
Both in the dark and without any light
He was going insane thinking of her
‘Til on that day his questions were answered

She called on him to talk about something
And so very worried he listened well
Said it was him for whom she had feelings
Both of their worlds had now upside turned down

The problem then was she had another
Both were conflicted with what she should do
Sense in one hand and heart in the other
They’re in this together and their lives are bound

He will be there for her no matter what
It’s all up to her now what happens next
If she so chooses to stay where she’s at
He’ll still be happy to be just a friend

oh man. this is so good! such a struggle between love and friendship. oh so well written. i loved how your feelings for her started small and it grew through out the poem. and its very noble that in the end, you are going to let her choose. and with whatever she chooses, you'll be her friend. i enjoyed this good read. good job
