One Drop

Our God is a God of healing, and of grace. This was written for a friend who needed to be reminded of His love for her.

One drop of liquid 

One bloody trickle 

One self infliction 

Razors and sickles

A shield maiden cries

And closes her eyes 

Now she is the enemy

The one to despise 

One drop of liquid 

One tear to fall

The shield maiden stands

And her back's to the wall

Broken and beaten

Life is so cruel 

The questions she ponders -

Are we all more than fuel? 

One drop of liquid 

One pool of grace

But the maiden just weeps -

And in shame hides her face

"I am not worthy" 

She says with full meaning 

Her walls keep her safe

But can't answer her keening 

One drop of liquid 

One muddy hole

One maiden kneels 

In dirt and in coals

I see the maiden 

She's part of my Plan

She's Loved most of all

Though she only feels damned 

One drop of liquid

One blood bath of grace

One holy sacrifice

Washes shame from her face

For I am the Maiden 

And I am her pain

And I am her sunshine

And I am her rain

I am her Lover

I am her Sky

I am her King

I am the Most High 

One drop can save her

One drop of my blood 

One drop of Me 

Cleanses the Mud 

The maiden is crying

She doesn't now know

How much I love her

She only feels woes 

One day she'll see

One day her eyes

Will behold my forgiveness 

See My love applied 

The maiden must never

Give up or give in 

For she is now cleansed

Unaccountable for sins 

I don't love the maiden for how 

She lives, succeeds, or prays 

I don't love a future maiden

I love her completely today

One drop of liquid 

Or two, My eyes water 

Overwhelmed by the love

That I have for My daughter

I like the lines above a lot. It was a epic journey into struggle to find peace and love again. I like the tone of the poem. Leading the young woman to the positive ending. I like the positive ending for the amazing poetry.
